Heavy-Duty Power: The 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Unveiled

The Silverado 2500 is one of the best-selling pickups on the market, especially among drivers with demanding jobs. The 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD has two powerful engine options, enhanced towing capabilities, and exterior features that make every task easier.

Mechanical

The standard engine on the Silverado 2500 is a 6.6L V8 gas engine that produces 401 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 464 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. The available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine offers increased power, providing 470 horsepower at 2800 rpm and 975 lb.-ft. of torque at 1600 rpm. Both engines are paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission.

Towing

The Silverado’s standard engine provides a maximum towing capacity of 14,500 pounds with a conventional hitch. If you have heavy-duty towing needs, the 6.6L Duramax is a better option, boasting a maximum towing capacity of 22,070 pounds.

Every Silverado 2500 comes with a Chevy Trailering Package that has everything you need for the towing process. This includes a trailer hitch, 2.5-inch receiver hitch, 4-pin and 7-pin connectors, a trailering hitch platform, and a 7-wire electrical harness. The Trailering Package also features Hitch Guidance, which uses a rear vision camera to give you an in-cabin view of your hitch and trailer.

Exterior

Technology

Inside the 2024 Silverado 2500, there’s a 7-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and AM/FM radio.
